Their team played an essential role over the past nine months, from snow removal and debris cleanup to the final touches before the grand opening, including pressure washing the building, sidewalks, and parking lot. 🚧 Topping Off Ceremony at Grand Senior Living! 🚧
We celebrated a significant milestone at Grand Senior Living last Tuesday with a topping-off ceremony, marking the placement of the last hip truss at the North building. It was a proud moment for the entire team, including Grand Senior Living, HPC, and our subcontractors. The North building's trusses and sheathing are complete, and we have installed the TPO membrane and roof hatch on the flat roof. We are starting the TPO installation at the first-level terrace this week, along with the hip roof underlayment. The South building's Lobby level wall panels have been delivered, and installation has begun, while structural framing at the Historic building's Lobby level started last week. Our plumbers are working on roof drains, and the installation of exterior window bucks and flashing continues at the North building. 🚧 Construction Update at My Place Hotel - Randolph, Vermont 🚧
We're excited to share the latest progress at My Place Hotel - Randolph, Vermont. The third floor is complete, with only the punch list remaining. The second floor is nearly finished, with punch list work starting soon, while finishes on the first floor are ongoing. The building is now on permanent power, the mechanical room is complete with water flowing throughout the building, and the water filtration system is operational, with the well pumping water. The sprinkler system is almost ready, and the fire pump is scheduled for startup this week. Site work is steadily progressing, with the final pavement scheduled for next week. My Place Hotel staff will begin pre-opening operations in mid-August, preparing for a September opening. Stay tuned for more updates as we near the completion of this exciting project! 🏨✨
The exterior walls of the north building at Vergennes Grand Senior Living are fully installed, and this week, we're working on the flat roof trusses and roof deck. Next week, we'll begin the hip roof trusses and roof sheathing. Roofing for the north building will start the week of the 22nd, then the south building panels. Our mechanical contractor is roughing in drain and water lines at the Lobby and 1st levels, while the electrical contractor is roughing in boxes on the Garden level. The siding contractor is busy Zip-taping walls, and we are also installing and taping exterior window bucks.

At the My Place Hotels in Randolph, Vermont, the final paint is applied on the 3rd floor, along with MEP finishes like light fixtures, outlets, toilets, faucets, and shower heads. Flooring on the 3rd floor is nearly complete, with the hallway and common areas finished this week. On the 2nd floor, finish paint and MEP finishes are progressing. The 1st floor is being sanded in the common areas and painted in the guest rooms. All doors on the upper floors are installed, and door frames are being installed on the 1st floor. The automatic door at the entry is also being installed this week. The hotel door hardware company will install locks on all doors next week. Ceiling grids are up on the 3rd and 2nd floors and are being worked on the 1st floor. The base pavement was laid last week, and the utility building is being framed. Permanent power will be available in the next two weeks.

We are installing first-floor wall panels at the Vergennes Grand Senior Living project and will begin the second-floor joists and sheathing next week. Floor joists, trusses, and sheathing are onsite and ready to start. The South building slab has been poured, preparing for panel installation in a few weeks. Plumbing rough-ins for waste and water lines have begun on the Garden and Lobby levels of the North building. Bracing and blocking on these levels are ongoing. We expect to complete the second floor and roof trusses by the end of June, allowing us to start roofing and shift to the South building panels.
Last Thursday, HP Cummings attended the official ribbon-cutting at The Gary Residence. We are honored to have been part of the team that made Clara’s Memory Garden a reality for the central Vermont community. Thank you to all our subcontractors, the design team, and the OM Fisher group for their hard work and dedication in bringing this dream to life.
It's been a busy week as we completed Phase 1 of the Lab and Radiology Renovations at Valley Regional Hospital. The hospital staff has been working hard to move their lab equipment into the new space while staying operational, and our team has assisted in the transition.
We're now preparing for Phase 2, which involves significant renovations to the radiology wing. Demolition will begin next week after all construction barriers and safety protocols are in place. Phase 2 includes reconfiguring some offices and workspaces and major utility upgrades, such as a new air handling unit.
At H.P. Cummings Construction Company, safety is our top priority every week, but especially during Construction Safety Week. This week, we're taking extra measures to ensure the well-being of our team members on-site and off-site.
From proper equipment usage to thorough training and regular safety inspections, we're committed to maintaining a safe working environment for everyone involved in our projects.
