We broke ground in 2009 on the New Utility Plant Expansion; this 1,500 SF plant was built adjacent to the existing utility room on the east side of the hospital, located between the hospital and the health center office building. The two new 300-horsepower boilers are more energy-efficient and will help reduce operating costs, replacing the hospital’s 50-year-old boilers. During construction, the hospital services and programs were maintained without interruption.
The facility combines glazing systems and is complemented with an insulated metal panel skin. The project also enabled Copley to improve the image of their service entry and insulate the south side of the health center building’s perimeter.
