This project consisted of a one-for-one replacement of the existing Linear Accelerator within the RRMC Cancer Center. The construction scope centered on mechanical and electrical upgrades required to support the new equipment, which was supplied directly by the owner. Improvements to the space included new flooring, selective framing and drywall, revised casework, updated decorative wall panels, expanded lead radiation shielding, new paint, and a redesigned control room. This was a fast-tracked effort by the owner, with Varian performing an expedited installation schedule that included seven-day work weeks and holidays; HPC supported this pace through extensive early planning and by working long days and weekends at key milestones.
