Laborer


Reports to: Superintendent

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary: The laborer performs tasks involving physical labor at various jobsites. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools and may clean and prepare sites, clean up rubble and debris, and remove waste materials. The position may assist other craft workers.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor

  • Maintain a clean jobsite, pick up tools and equipment, and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards

  • Building and/or demolition

  • Perform material handling and storage

  • Load and unload trucks. Haul and hoist materials

  • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Bring issues to the attention of the foreman and/or superintendent

  • Provide assistance to craft workers

  • Operate power tools

  • Able to take direction from management and/or senior craftsman

  • Maintain a positive attitude

  • Provide a good work ethic and effort towards all assigned tasks

  • Able to be a team player

  • Willingness to learn new tasks

  • Share knowledge and help train others

  • Demonstrate consistent attendance on the jobsite

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate clearly with the team


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities


Hiring Requirements/Preferences:

  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience, but willing to train the right individual.

  • Must be able to travel to the jobsite(s) as assigned

  • Valid driver's license

  • Minimum tools required: tape measure, hammer, and utility knife

  • OSHA-10 training preferred, but will provide

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

  • Strong organization skills and dedication to completing projects in a timely manner

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

  • Experience with computers and technology a plus

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Working hours are 7:00am to 3:30pm. Please come to the site early enough to start work at 7:00am and be prepared to work until 3:30pm.
Overtime may be offered to stay on project schedule
