Originally offering 13 residential care suites, the Gary Residence was expanded to include a dedicated memory care facility. The project involved the construction of a 12,000 square foot single-story addition, accommodating 15 memory care beds along with shared kitchen, dining, living, and activity areas plus a three-story stair tower.

During the addition project, we faced the unforeseen challenge of a catastrophic flood that impacted the existing building. In response, our contract was expanded to include post-flood renovations of the original structure, addressing the damage caused by floodwaters. The project posed significant challenges due to the confined site, which had limited laydown areas and contractor parking space while overcoming the logistical complexities of working on an active residential care site. We managed these constraints by utilizing offsite locations for contractor parking and storage. Completion of the expansion alongside the flood-related renovations enhanced the overall quality of care offered at the facility.
