This project started as a full gut of the existing 3,500 square-foot interior space and was remodeled into the new six-bed inpatient unit that provides care to adolescents ages 12 to 17 experiencing mental health crises.

Designed to be bright, modern, and cheerful, the unit features wall murals, sensory and art rooms, and colorful custom finishes. The space also includes a dining area, group therapy area, and a secluded quiet consult area. This is the first pediatric psychiatry hospital care unit in Vermont and New Hampshire that is also able to handle their patients’ additional medical needs like diabetes or chronic conditions during behavioral health treatment.
