The Charlestown Health Center’s Medical Office Building project involved the construction of a brand new 8,200 square foot facility from the ground up. The building was constructed using a wood-frame method on a slab-on-grade concrete foundation. During construction, H.P. Cummings placed significant emphasis on the envelope details, resulting in an exceptionally airtight building that offers increased energy efficiency and cost savings for the owner.
The new building serves as the expanded home for Charlestown Family Medicine, which had previously operated in a smaller space. A key objective of the project was to enhance the size of the facility, doubling the available space. The center now accommodates four primary care physicians and incorporates an X-ray room, providing improved healthcare services for the community. The project successfully met the goal of creating a larger and more comprehensive medical facility for Charlestown Family Medicine.
